advice needed! im in the the middle of starting up my new window cleaning business, its going to be mainly wc but im also buying a pressure washer and gutter vac. thinking about adding carpet cleaning to it aswell but not sure as i know im going to be looking at afew grand for the right kit! would it be better to add the cc later on or from the onset??

Concentrate on what your doing now buddy, build that up and then see what happends in the future

Why don't you buy a used decent machine and see how you get on, then upgrade to a new machine later on if it goes ok, all your window customers are potential cc customers :)
-
Bad time to start carpet cleaning. As the weather gets colder all the soft wc want to come in from the elements and have the easy life as a CC , so you'll have a lot of extra competition. I'd stick with wc.

cheers guys think i will leave it for now concentrate on building my round up and see what happens :)
-
Yeah stick to windows for now. Jack of all trades doesn't work unless you have staff.
p.s. cool aviator! ;)

invest that money into marketing and it will give you a return which you reinvest and you keep going. but first you need to find the marketing tool that gives that return that your holy grail. successful marketing is the gift that keeps giving.

yea sounds like a good plan iv set aside a good budget for marketing having a company designing my van wrap, flyers, business cards etc could maybe spend abit more on my website :)

I think i read you are Window Cleaning . In that case just door knock to start with. Do not spend big money on Marketing until you have built some rounds

Hi Danno
Looking at it from another perspective, how much do you know about carpet cleaning.
You will almost certainly be asked to clean upholstery too and maybe hard floors.
All these areas have many pitfalls and it is what allows those who know what they are doing to charge good prices. However this takes time and rushing in when you don't know much will almost certainly result in problems which may well put you off permanently.
My advice is establish WC first, then get some training etc.
Cheers
