Title: Oh no 30 tds
Post by: Mr Sparkle on August 27, 2013, 09:07:55 pm
Been cleaning the last few days with a tds of 30.
Only just checked the tds and my own fault thought it was fine as not long changed the resin,
Will they leave all marks with 30 tds?
Not had anyone phone up complaining yet,
Touch wood will be ok.

A good chance you will have some spot, factors are how much you rinse, weather or not you usually clean the frame and if it was hot and sunny,  on your side (hopefully) is that most customers are regulars and you've been cleaning them for a while, they most likely wont be checking that closely, and many will forgive a dodgy clean here and there but if you get a complaint go out and reclean ASAP

30 will be fine.

Cleaned with 54 yesterday & first job this morning! ;D

Gave the vessel a shake to finish the day off with 006. I inspected the first job & on the odd window I could make out the odd faint water spot but nothing anyone else would notice.

Changed resin when I got home. Tulsion has become pants, I'm going back to Dowex.

It fine

Its alright for you boys. Where I am is near to a whole load of limestone quarries, The result is that everything gets covered in a fine cement like dust.. Its a flipping nightmare for spotting.. TDS 000 or nothing…

my tap tds is 30-35 so am i wasting money even buying resin?

are you guys really confident that the windows are coming up clear and spot free?

and why do some of you seem careless when it comes to purifying water?

ive gone up to 015 before changing resin but not any higher.

regards

Try it. Clean your own windows with tap water.

I wouldn't use 54 normally, I got caught out- Tulsion MB115 just doesn't seem to be what it used to :-\

I would happily clean with 20-30  on a regular basis though. ;)

I've got a feeling some of these posts are wind-ups  :) .
The real test is looking at the "clean" glass from inside on a bright day.

Why do people use resin if you can get it out your ro at less than 20?

i always use tulsion resin and i havent noticed it being used up more than normal.i use two 25kg bags a year roughly.

me personally wont take notice of the guys that are cleaning with 54 tds!colin "purewater" although i also think he s joking!!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm certainly NOT joking!

54 parts per "MILLION" it's not milk is it! ::)roll

OK, it's not ideal but it ain't gonna have you in major trouble either.

As said, I'd happily clean with 30ppm & have done many times without issue.

Some people maybe need to look at things logically instead of being "sheep" ;)

000 tds is old hat.
I've started adding minerals to my water to increase the tds.

We did some first cleans on large blocks of flats and they were so sandy we cleaned with tap water TDS 85.
When we went back round to clean the glass with pure water they dried off and were virtually spotless!!
Got me tempted to wash them all with tap water in future. ;D ;D ;D

WHAT AM I READING! I worried the other day because mine was 004 and I had no replacement resin for 2 days... im almost sure if its above 005 on a sunny day you can see the marks easily

the amount of times ive seen this come up on forums is unreal .

Unless you have cleaned at a higher tds than the magical 000 tds you cant argue until you do it yourself
my tds is at 14 now and has been for several weeks and i have no plans onchanging the resin in my RO until i need to
why waste money when you dont need to ?

im sure lee burbidge has done an article in the past with regards to tds readings

to be quite honest I only order £15.00 amounts every 3 months so I think I can afford to change mine when it reads 005 lol but im sure if people are using 1000 litres a day or more then if its working above that then its worth saving those extra pennies

I changed my resin today at 32ppm. Not sure why i change at 30-35ppm as still dont get probs with it that high but its a safe number i go upto without any probs.

Funny you should say that, last year, i used to change my Tulsion resin, every two months but this year, i am having to change it every 3 weeks, and i am using the same amount of water every day, i wonder if their quality has gone down !!! :( ???

have been using 58ppm straight out of tap since
january ive had one complaint in that time spotting
on bottom of each window where the water had gathered

solved problem by running squeegee on pole across bottom
of windows at end of cleaning took seconds and not a complaint
