Title: Van insurance
Post by: jimlaffo on August 23, 2013, 12:53:25 am
Hi, looking to purchase my first van soon, I have 8 years no claims bonus from my car, do most insurance companies accept this?
Any info on this would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Nope I couldn't transfer my car ncd to a van but they do a mirror discount off you car policy so you get the discount but not the no claims discount. So after one year I now have 1 y ncd but pay as if I have nine. I think it only works if u insure another vehicle though.

If it's your only vehicle then yes they will transfer it.

I have managed to transfer personal car ncb to the van insurance. We used commercial vehicle direct.

You can transfer it, but only if you are not using your no claims on another vehicle.
If you're already using your ncb on your car or another van, then cant use it again...

I mirror mine from my car to van.
Saves me lots of cash.
