Title: Van signwriting
Post by: Matt Gibson on August 17, 2013, 05:21:05 pm
Whats everyones thoughts on signing your van? keep it simple? just a logo and contact details?

Or a list of services/things you clean etc?

Im changing the name of the company around a bit and was thinking of updating the signage. Ive got a list of surfaces i clean etc, website and phone details and logo. Was thinking of just ditching the list and keeping it quite simple. Whats everyone elses like? any thoughts?

I've seen some great sign written vans on this forum, very flash

We have kept our quite simple but do list the services we do,  all I can say is last week I was standing next to the van when asked do I clean windows ?

The van has window cleaning in 10 inch high lettering down the side  ??? ::)roll

So I do wonder at times......

Matt what is your main income....domestic or commercial? If its commercial i would keep it basic ...like a business card only 10ft high and 15 foot long! For domestic make it a rolling sign board of flashy grapics, contact details ,bright colours, flashing lights etc  so when the curtains are twitching everybody in the street knows what you are up to and how to get hold of you. I hate the grapics on my van ...it looks sooooo tacky but it works!

Work is about 50/50 at the moment. commercial & domestic. I know what you mean about commercial work with the signage, most big firms have minimal signage. might have to sit down and mock up a few designs.

Try this site

You can play about with colours, different text, pics etc on your make and model of van until you get it right. Got mine from them, see new van pics thread, good price as well. Got mine fitted by a local company who I do a bit of work for so worked out well, cost me an oven clean  :).
