Title: Resin in tank
Post by: Mr.G on August 17, 2013, 05:20:41 pm
Hi, I have a problem with leaking resin.
It's a DI which is built into a RO system

I'm finding resin in my water storage tank, also lots in the outer canister that contains the DI resin holder.

The TDS also is rising very quick..

anyone got any ideas?
thanks.

Ditch it - leave it empty and get an 11 ltr di vessel

depending what setup you have and size, you might be missing some foam filters on it! do you have any pics or links to the one you have?

I don't have a pic, but it looks a bit like this-

the right hand canister is the DI,

there's no foam filters in it at all! should there be?

normally there is a plastic tube which goes inside the housing in the picture inside this tube there is a foam filter at the top and the bottom

is the resin canister insert that you fill with resin got a grill at the bottom of it, then another one that you put ontop after the resin then a lid??

Basically inside the "outer" canister,  I have a "inner canister" that holds the resin
this inner one has a grille at the bottom,
and a lid (with no grille) slides on the top
A thick white plastic washer on top of that inner lid.

An O ring between the outer canister and its screw on lid (but no O ring or seal between the inner canister and its (push on) lid

No foam filters.

I hope that makes sense!

thanks for all the replies so far!

thought so, its like Michael said, there should be a foam filter in there, so basically

you should first put in the foam filter

then resin

then foam filter

then grille

then lid
