Are they drums on the rears or discs?

Disc brakes are far better aren't they?

ye discs all round just didn't know if anyone uprated them to bigger brakes due to the weight being carried with obvious it slows down breaking with weight

The weight carried has to be in line with manufacturers spec. Therefore the brakes have to be more than adequate as they are.

Exactly.

However, I had an insurance company refuse insurance renewal on my van last year as I hadn't upgraded the brakes and tyres. I have a SWB Citroen Relay with a 650 litre tank. Payload 1145kgs. When I realised that she wasn't going to listen to reason even although they had insured my van the previous two years, I asked her if the calls were recorded. She confirmed they were. I then suggested that I hope the boss would listen to this and kick her a..e. Wished her a pleasant day but she put the phone down on me before I finished.  ;D

However, tyres are another issue. The replacement tyres on a 600LX Berlingo van are 82T's but the replacement tyres on the 800LX are 86T's which carry more weight and are more expensive. My son replaced all his tyres on his van as three of them were incorrectly fitted 82T's by the previous owner.

Standard on mine, however having fitted a bigger tank in the back i found they have worn quicker than with the smaller tank in. To be expected though.
