Title: Employing someone to do leaflet delivery
Post by: PAUL ERITH on August 15, 2013, 06:00:40 pm
I'm after some advice i'm getting someone in next year to do a 1000 leaflets a week for about £60 per thousand.

How do you pay them do you ask them for a invoice and pay them as self employed which is wrong if you know that they are doing it cash in hand or pay them as an employee under the tax & in Threshold   ???

Would you get them to sign a simple part time employment contract saying that its their only job and that they are not claiming benefits, aloud to work in the uk ect  ???

obviously in a ideal world i would be looking a mum or dad that has a partner that works fulltime and has 8.5 hrs spare time a week for extra cash.

Thanks Paul

Anything under £100 odd total I pay cash in hand.
Nothing wrong with cash. It's Upto them to declare it.

I have contractors to do some of ours.

Ad on Gumtree and I was overwhelmed - 40 odd replies in a day or two.  I employed the ones with the gumption to look up our number and phone.

I made it crystal clear in writing that they were going to be self-employed contractors and responsible for every aspect of their tax, NI, insurance, running costs etc.  They carry trackers and I get an invoice plus the tracker file on a Sunday, which I pay on the Monday.  I never specified hours, just areas I wanted covered over the next month.

They did 120 per hour overall, which at £6 per hour meant £50/thousand.

They love it as they can do zero or forty hours in a week if they wish.  I also NEVER EVER under any circumstances pay them late, so they know they'll have the cash.

I love it as they just drip out leaflets all the time.  Not that leafletting can ever work,of course.  Oh no, only spaztards leaflet.

By all means give me a shout.  But not tomorrow, as I'm on holiday.

Vin

Sorry, dude, only just saw your request.
