Title: Dynamall & zebra bonnet pads
Post by: Russ Chadd on August 14, 2013, 06:35:17 pm
Just a quick post to share my experiences with a job i did today, my local community centre needed the carpet tiles cleaned in a large function room.
The room actually leads straight out on to the football pitches so you can imagine the state of the carpet, plus this would be the very first clean in the 12 years they have been down!!!

After i used the TM5 with the stiff brown brushes and the pile lifter to extract as much of the dirt as possible it was time to lay down some hot enzall on the beer stained tiles, agitated using the TM5.
Anyway... rinsed out at 300 psi and with F90 in the tank for good measure, the carpets looked a lot better but didnt have that wow factor.
The centre manager was happy with any improvement as replacement was not a n option, so...

I pre sprayed Dynamall on the extracted area and used a 17" zebra bonnet (both available from Restormate) and straight away the carpet looked brighter and the expected wicking back was not as noticeable.
Dynamall also has a really pleasant smell which the customer really liked.

When I posted a picture of my garage tiles some said I was on a windup and I didn’t extract first.

Any way looks good but a TM would have made light work out of it ;D ;)

That is a really good combo zebra pads and dynmall I was just discussing with a carpet cleaner freind of mine today, how well the zebra pad digs in to the carpets compared to anything else I have used to Encap,

Another great product from restormate

Too right Len... A TM would of been perfect for this job, it was just a little too big for my Enforcer but i got it done in the end!
The floor was also very uneven which slowed the job down... had to keep changing position in order to get a good contact with the wand and floor... grrrr!!!

I know!!!! It’s a bugger when that happens have you tried a glide it may stop the wand chattering  ???

Best thing I have found on these is a good pre-vac followed by a Cimex with a mix of pad and brush. 2:1

I have found that standard bonnet pads (looped queen, texatherm types) get ripped to shreds on it and appear melted.

When you saw the amount of soil, beer and god knows what else the extractor removed i couldnt imaging just encapping it.
Maybe the next time i clean it i will encap seeing as most of the filth has been removed!
Yep.. tried a glide and it felt worse, almost need a wand which somehow moulds itself to the contours of the floor...

My preference is to encap it first then see what needs extracting. Even then I would go over it again with the rotary/cimex/orbot.
The other advantage is when you come to extract the agitation phase has already been done and some soil is in suspension.

On beer etc Chemspec Enzyme Carpet Shampoo takes some beating for encap work.
