hi there, as you know have been gathering info re.starting up ,preparing and delivering leaflets, got my machine ,chemicals etc... now ,as im starting up on part time basis i did have access to company vehicles from my full time job to help me kick off, that has now been withdrawn,(nice people lol)... so i am looking for a very cheap runaround starter van to get me up and running.... can anyone help?... cheers

Gazza, dont go for a cheap old van. You and the van represent your business, i for one would not use a company who came spluttering around the corner in a Del Boy type battered old van.
Spend a bit more and have it sign written and look the part.
No criticism intended just advice.

Paul is right, Get a good van and uniform, set a good impresion b4 you start work or even quote. You should be able to pick up a bargain end of lese 4 year old van at auction. Combo type vans can go for around £1000 with the larger new shape transits at around £3000-£4000

What type of business are you starting? The reason I am asking is I would like to understand what kind of van you are after.
Kind regards,

Hi I have recently purchased an astra van off Ebay (maybe risky I hear some of you saying!) but you could view before you buy it! I have also had it sign written and am very pleased with it!
Good luck

Apart from an Escort van that I bought new (many years ago, it's P reg) I have bought all my vans 2nd hand.
Notable bargains were a W reg Berlingo, 50,000 miles, from a flosist, perfect condition, £2200 and an absolutely immaculate R reg Astra, 115,000 miles for £750
I would advise an Astra van rather than Escort, as even the R Astra looks a modern shape, and is certainly a more modern van to drive. Pay less than £1000 for a good clean one, and then pay for some really eye-catching vinyl graphics. Then again, the Escort has more headroom, if you were thinking of a water tank.
Park your van in a prominent place (don't hide it on someone's drive, leave it in the road and carry your equipment) and it will pay for itself in advertising.
