Title: Need a new 13mm hose from van?
Post by: Fin Clearview on August 11, 2013, 09:46:21 pm
Hi all, I want to get a better hose from my d.i to hose reel. My reel isn't fixed to van so I take out of the van and shut doors which gives the hose a hammering and it also coils up on reel sometimes when reeling out and wears against the side of the reel. Another leak waiting to happen! Can anyone point me to a better one?

Cheers

Ta mate - a response at last! :)

My mate just stopped by, he's using same rig (cold water also) and said to just use 8mm hose cut off with 13mm joiner to the di.
Makes sense I suppose as 8 mm won't coil as much and tough as old boots.

if its coiling etc as your reeling are you using the correct connector to connect to the real? swivel elbow or the new gardiners ones should allow the real to move freely without your other hose driving you mad

It's a swivel elbow, I think it's just the 13mm hose I'm using as it usually coils about halfway between reel and di

Yes I have some on a 13mm reel but I think (due to its durability) that I'll use the short 13mm from the di into a reducer to 8mm and then a length of 8mm cut of from a spare reel (if this makes sense!!) phew this plumbers talk can be a bit of a mouthful!
