Title: Equipment Freezing
Post by: AquaMagic on March 02, 2006, 08:10:57 pm
Does anyone have a good solution for stopping my truckmount freezong up overnight in the van, bearing in mind there is a petrol tank in the back along with the machine itself, ive given the truckmount a "jacket" made out of an old duvet but dont think this will be sufficient.

Hope someone can help.

Many thanks

If you have access to a power point try fitting a tube heater like the ones for a green house. I  fitted mind to the bulkhead and plug in every night, If you leave it fitted its no problem. Iv had no problem yet but I am thinking of putting in a bigger tube if the temp keeps going down below -4

Machine mart do a ceramic heater plate. I've got a 200watt but I would recommend the 400 watt. Got mine fitted to the bulkhead.

Get a Webasto Airtop 2000 or preferably an Eberspacher diesel fed heating system. Plumbed into your fuel tank with an auxilary battery for the glow pin. Duct heat to the cab aswell. Runs on a thermostat. Not cheap though - iro £800 fitted. You,ll never worry about any of your kit in the cold again.
