Can anyone recommend a good place to buy a frame to fit an upright 650l tank please?
I rung Varitech and for the tank and frame they wanted £1,200+ :'(
The tanks can be got for less than £300 so that almost a grand for a frame!!!!!
I don't want to use straps so where's the best place to get hold of a decent frame??
Cheers :)

If you cannot source one you could ask a local engineering company to fabricate a frame for you.

pure freedom

MCC find any welder local.
Take your tank don't and show them.
One man bands I find are best.
Fella here did mine for £60, painted too.
It doesn't need to be made by Ionic/PureFreedom etc-they just put there name to it and double (triple for Ionic :D) the price of it.

Cheers lads; Daz they sound a lot better. Got a bit of a shock when I rung Varitech; almost took to drinking :o
-
best thing you can do is get rid of the unbaffled wydale tank and have a proper one made with baffles in it,

Is this the frame youre getting Daz,

scrimble i have a 350L baffled wydale tank at the moment from gardiners.the 500L tank ill be getting next year is also baffled. ;)
they are made for the job steven.im quite sure they wouldnt sell em if they were nt up to the job! ;) ;D ;D

dazmond i also used to have a 350l wydale tank (got fed up with feeling sea sick), they are un baffled, they only have a mould in them which strengthens the tank, without that mould in the middle the tank would bow out of shape, it is not a baffle
they sell them because they are cheap to produce and people buy them,
a proper baffled tank looks like this inside

Agreed! They are rubbish! They have no support on the sides to secure the tank. But depending on which way you mount it, it will not hold the tank when either braking or tuning. If you damage the box opening it, they won't take it back for credit either.
Waste of money - don't buy it. The warning in the box says its not designed to hold the tank secure in an accident - words to that effect.
