Hi i am looking to fit a smart split relay in my Peugeot Expert van (old shape)running to my leisure battery in the rear of the van.
My problem is i can't see any way of running the wire from the starter battery in the engine compartment to the inside of the van.
Has anyone who has fitted one of these point me in the right direction.

I looked at the wing but was hoping there would be a way through into behind the glove box.
How did you feed wire through the wing?and does the door opening and closing not snag it.
I am based in Edinburgh.

cant remember exactly, i think i removed the panel that forms the arch and put it behind that as for the door bit i think there is a rubber bung which i took off and passed it thru there

I would run the cable from the battery and down under the van, using cable ties to secure it to the brake pipes. Drill a hole in the floor near the front, paint it to prevent rust and feed the cable through and connect it up to your split charger relay, then on to your battery. You could silicone seal the hole if you wish later.
If you own a Transit Connect LWB, they come prewired for a power point at the rear offside of the van. The female plug is just above the arch of the rear wheel. They didn't fit a power point to the first Connects but the wiring is the same for the people carrier which had that accessory.

I've just got my new van 2012 expert and it has a power point in the back but I shall wire my split charger to the battery because the I've been told the power point might get a bit hot. I was wondering how I was going to do it but now I like the idea of running the wire under the van easy.
