Got my first ever Gardiner pole delivered this morning, it's only a CLX 22 but all I can say is WOW, it's so light compared to the fibre glass poles i've been using for the last 5 years, it also closes down to a really short length which is going to make it easier on some jobs where there is not much room.
The clamps seem a bit fiddley compared to what i'm used to, but i'm already getting used to them.
The best thing of all is the sill brush, amazing is all I can say, absolutely glides over the glass and cleans the sill with ease, gives a great scrub too, i've just breezed through a minging first clean.
On the whole I am well pleased, I can see why Gardiners are so loved on this forum now.

but i thought we all agreed that the brodux metal poles are the lightest around ?

That was my first choice but they'd sold out due to high demand :(

i thought the 22 CLX was the bees knees when i first got one after the 25ft brodex hydra and streamline fibreglass poles!then i bought the 25ft and 22ft SLX and wow!they were even better!then a 40ft SUPERMAX and finally ive bought the best poles in the world!EXTREME 25 and EXTREME 47! ;D
enjoy your pole!you ll never use the full fibre glass poles again!! ;D
best wishes

Hopefully I can work my way up to Extremes one day, they must be as light as a feather.
Going to save up for a SLX 35 as my next investment to replace my 30 foot fibre glass pole which is killing me :'(

A few days using my clx now and i've got to say i'm not a fan of the clamps.
They are quite fiddley and annoyingly the levers keep spinning around so I have to mess about lining them up to close them.
They also need tightening all the time as they get loose and this leads to the dreaded spinning of the pole sections.
The clamps on my old xtel and streamlines were far better, simple and easy to operate.
It's a shame as I love the actual pole and brush.
I guess I was just expecting better after all the Gardiner hype on here.

From your description it sounds like you need to set the clamps up so that each section doesn't turn - then tighten up another 360 degrees, even a further 180.
-
Ok I'll try tightening them all as far as is possible and see if that helps.
Maybe I just need to get used to them as everyone else seems to love them.

You do not want them too tight, but enough to get the lever slightly sprung.
Tighten so they just hold and then about 1 full turn and another half a turn of the bolt adjuster will usually be all that is needed.
If you have previously been used to lengthways clamps then this is a complete change of action which will take a few days to fully get used to.
