What's the alternative? Drop 20,000 leaflets. Pay someone to canvass, or knock doors and leaflet? Or just watch your round get smaller?
I know which option I'd choose.

if you really want more work then get out there yourself.i dont generally canvass that much anymore but a few months ago i was leafleting for my girlfriends shop and did a bit (a few hours here and there) and didnt get a single customer!when a person shown interest as soon as a mentioned price they said no!i didnt think i was overly high with the price either.
i now mainly rely on recommendations, word of mouth.in the last few months ive added over £2,000 worth of work a year just by walk ups etc.
i find established guys like me have rounds that are self generating with very little need for canvassing as work is constantly getting topped up.of course you get the odd one dropping out/messers etc but not many so my round is improving year on year with new work priced slightly higher and older work being increased every few years.
once you ve knocked on a few doors it gets easier.im not hungry anymore though as im defo in the "comfort zone" with my present workload and generally happy with the quality of my round but of course it can always be improved slightly! ;) ;D ;D

Get a casual worker student ? to knock then you give quotes , Pay them daily should get someone that needs instant cash

tried to find someone but been messed about, when i started last year i was hungry for work, im not comfortable at all speaking to strangers or knocking doors but i did it, now i got enough work to get by ive lost my hunger.
think im gonna force myself out there, cant rely on anyone but yourself so to speak

I'm in exactly the same situation mate!

If you hate canvassing that much just do a big leaflet drop, you will still get a few new customers out of it.

Im the opposite can't wait to get all my parrots and monkeys in order and get out there knocking doors. Im way on the wrong side of Bath or I would have come up and done a couple of days for you for diesel and chips…

I love canvassing now.me and my worker go and pick a good few up.its great and definately the way to go if you want to run a successfull business.
Look smart,be confident and they come flocking.

Hi Paul
Have you tried knocking on the doors next to where you are cleaning?
"Hi - I'm cleaning the windows next door do you need a window cleaner?"
You're there working you're up and about and up for it - It's a lot easier than trudging the streets for hours and you can try just one on the first day and see you get on - two the next day etc..
If you can't get to up to that yet then leaflet 3 or 4 houses on each side of where you are working and across the road.
Good luck.
