Title: oven clean

hi all
I have just had an enquiry about oven cleaning. electric double oven not too bad condition at present (electrolux prestige)

I know 'not to bad condition' is all relative, it could be worse than she says.

But would this require a full dip tank type clean, or would i be able to do it myself with degreasers and oven cleaners etc?
hard to say withut seeing it i know, just wanted some thoughts

Lisa. 
If i get asked to do an oven clean then i usually just use degreasers and oven cleaners.
If they want more than that then i'd say that was a specialist job.

They didn't give me much to go on, they are just enquiring about prices at the mo, so see how it goes, it will involve a moving in clean aswell, without furniture, just blinds and carpets.

I have explained that it will be a manual clean as apposed to full dip tank clean, just have to see what they say.

You sound busy busy busy!!!

If I get enq's about oven cleaning , I always contract then out, basically because even the best cleaners can never to a job like   it being dipped in a tank, as it all get dismantled and serviced etc...

Not woth the hassle to be honest, come to some agreement with a gool local company, much easier!!!

I dissagree with Dustees, when I finish an oven its like new, but its very hard work. I have a large bucket the type you get from B&Q For storing stuff. I fill this up with very hot water and degreaser (Mr Muscle) Ithen put in everything to soak spray the Oven with Brillo oven cleaner. I do this and then call back 2hrs later and begin the clean, but you need to be able to strip doors down to clean etc. I dont like doing them so I charge £30 to £50 to do. average £45. regards Phil

I dont think i would really have time to do them myself, yes i'm very busy busy :) so i think i would need to locate an oven cleaner, and sub it out.
not sure if anyone does it around here though, maybe Karl CMS, not sure. What do you do? Tell customer a price, and pay oven cleaner, keeping % profit? I havent subbed out before, not quite sure how to do it.

We don't use a professional oven cleaning service but need to as staff complain about doing it.

So there you are.....any oven cleaners cover Telford/Shrewsbury/Oswestry ???????

hi lisa , have a look to see how bad it is , if not to bad, bunzel or makro sell a Brillo oven in a trigger spray , by johnson diversty . great on ovens just heat the oven slighty ,spray it on, 5 mins later comes off  may take an hour to clean depends on oven cheaper then subing out. on less it is a big job
