Title: securing a di vessel
Post by: Matt Gibson on August 04, 2013, 05:36:55 pm
Right chaps,

How do you secure your di in your van? I remember seeing some pics on here of someones van and they had like a circular bracket with what looked like black foam on the inside of it. Looked like a big circle with a hinge in it. Hard to explain. Ive also seen expansion tank brackets but looking for something a bit more sturdy.

Anyone know whay i mean when i tried to describe the above? I know what it looks like, just dont know what to search for.

Cheers

Bungee straps.
In fact one of my di's isn't secured at all, when they're full of water they tend to stay upright.

Yeah i thought about bungees but the van is full of other gear too and im just looking to secure it out of the way and be able to just plug in the hoses when needed and not have to worry about moving it about.

just hoping someone knows what bracket im trying to describe ;D

are these used for any other purpose? Although i suppose at a fiver probably not worth shopping around.

Matt what you have seen at winters is exactly what you want they also have a threaded lug you screw 1 half onto a bolt secured into a frame or something that solid ( will do a pic if you need one ) to measure your di just put a measure across the base usually they are 8 inches

I got my tank boarded in a cage, so I got some ply on the floor with two round slots for the base of the DI vessels to sit in. Then I have ratchet strapped the vessels to the side of the tank. They don't budge! :)
