following on from another thread on whats the best van for your business.
i do on average 2500-3000 miles a year in my work van due to compact work and having a car for leisure.
im looking at spending £4000-£5000 on my next van and im hoping it will last me 5 years with minimum downtime.
i need a van that will easily take a 500L tank in a cage plus all my trad gear, poles, etc.
i was thinking of a vivaro/trafic/primstar BUT i think it might be overkill for a sole trader so thinking of a scudo/expert/dispatch type medium van.im also going to get it vinyl wrapped or part wrapped.
im trying to get the balance right between neat, clean and professional but not too flashy! ;D ;D ;D ;D
im thinking i need a van with a 900kg PAYLOAD min.probably more like 1000kg.whats the payload of the scudo/dispatch/expert type vans?
cheers guys

I just bought a vivaro simply because it can more than handle the 650L tank. and has room for other stuff should I need to carry it… I thought the same as you. Do I really need a van that size. and the answer was yes.. And for one of the reasons that you said you don't want… I see it as a huge advertising board announcing my presence to the world..
Actually the reality is It came along at the right price… I just had to justify it to myself.. lol

hi jim.how old is your vivaro and how much did you pay for it?is it the SWB version?
-
i would suggest a dispatch type van, or a transit connect daz. dont think you can really justify all the extra expenses of a larger van just so you can have a larger font written on the side
-
Lwb connect great van drives like a car
And really easy to park in tight spaces
You could get a cracker for 5k daz
I've had a Swb one for about 2.5 years
Great van
I love it, gona up grade to the lwb next year
To help the tax bill
Will be sorry to see myn go tbh daz
Never let me down ;)

Last year only 10000 (ish) but this year I'd expect we will do over 15000.
Get yourself a vivaro/traffic Daz. It really isn't overkill for a sole trader and it won't have to look too flash. Also you do so few miles I'd fit a 650 tank so you have plenty of water for all situations. It's not like your ever doing many miles with a full tank!
Your budget will get you a nice 2008-2009 model with decent mileage.
