i have a 2400 watt vacuum, which kind of generator do i need? 3kva or 5 kva?

You have to look at the maximum, and continuous output of the generator to get the best out of your machine, so I would say a 5kva which is is 4kw would be best.

I will be buying one of these myself as they have a 3 yr warranty, and are the cheapest new machine I have found  ;D

More like 6kva it wont cope with the power spike when switchef on
