Title: Replacing recoil spring gx340

looks like the recoil springs gone on the gx 340.
had the pulley housing off and cant figure how you could replace this ??? and get it on and around both posts
any help greatly appreciated..

Do you have the new spring or have you bent the old one ? The new spring must be fitted with the correct side down ie so it rewinds the right way. Warm the end of the cord so it threads nicely. Fit it all together and wind it right up and then off a turn. Poke the cord throught the hole and tie a nice tight knot.

im not tech savvy so might just order new unit at £15 and save myself a headache lol.
pull cord snapped so fetched off pull start unit retied pull cord  and once off the spring stays in same place albeit string hangs out 16".

This is a pain but it is just a matter of winding it up the correct way and holding in place whilst refitting.

Trial and error.
