Does anyone out there use Aquadaptor 1/4 inch hose as the hose on their reel? and not just as a pole hose?
-
why would you want to do that
-
I only ask cause I was told I could so I thought Id ask around to see if it was true.. Me being a newbie and all that.. to the uneducated it may seem an option. But due to the silence Im assuming its one of my more "DOH !" moments lol

some on here have, i think the ones that have tried it really like it i can imagine it tangling quite a lot but i dont know, for lightness and durability i use 6m microbore gardiners sell it and its good stuff

Jim, did you try Aqua-dapter pole hose on your reel? If you did, was it any good or more hassle than it's worth?
Regards
Paul

I use Aquadaptors pole hose as my main hose. I've got 80m in total on the reel and I personally like it:
It's extremely light to use and easy to pull round houses.
Obviously very easy to wind in on the reel (my reel is attached to the floor on the inside of the van)
Used it for over a year now and no splits etc. My pump is on 30 and that's plenty of water for me.
Also I can shut the van door (and lock it) on the hose without it crimping or disturbing the water flow.
For me the only downside is when you run it across a pavement is doesn't always sit flat to the floor, so I put a warning sign over it.
It doesn't seem to tangle any more than normal hose and when it does it's easy to undo.
I used to use pure freedom 8mm but it was too heavy and too slow for how I work.

Thanks Peter,
how did your pump fare from it having to get the water through a smaller bore pipe & did you have any issues in winter with the pipe freezing due to the thinner walls of the Aqua-dapter hose?

I've had no problems with the pump, in fact i've hardly upped it at all (I use a pure freedom trolley as a van mount).
In the winter, I bring the hose reel inside (it's so light to carry) and yes it can freeze a bit but then I probably won't be cleaning anyway if it's that cold. Also because it's so thin it defrosts very quick if you stick a fan heater next to it.
When I first started using it, I just bought 50m and attached it to my existing 8mm mini bore, in case I didn't like it and I could just remove it.

Been trying to upload pics and it doesn't want to work for me.

Been using 50 meters of pole hose on a custom trolley for a few years now. Love it.
