the H and S people should butt out of people making a living, it makes me sick how we are damned about by these nobs how have no clue what is safe or what is not safe

I've done worse but times change and what was acceptable, along with the injuries and deaths as a result of, now isn't.

What Mr paulgran1234 doesn't seem to get is that this type of progression in terms of H & S has been going on for over 150 years.

During my brief time in construction, I remember working near the top of a chimney stack on scaffolding with no guard rails or toe boards.  It was around 1973.  I doubt anyone would dare do that these days - and rightly so.

If that builders scaffolding collapses are anything to go by, the bricky was probably safer in the digger bucket.
