Title: Dreaded health and safety
Post by: Jim Waugh(Albright & Shiny) on July 24, 2013, 06:57:52 pm
Peeps.
Just about to launch out as a sole trader. My a van and a pole. No ladders . What are the Health and safety requirements. Do I need to seek out training for myself to satisfy insurers for PLI etc. Or do I just take all reasonable steps to negate risks. I have done lots of Risk assessments in my current job should that be sufficient.
any guidance accepted.

sounds like you are well ahead in this game, there is no need legally for a sole trader to do any courses, just do as you said and you will be fine, if you know how to write a risk assessment you are ahead of a lot on here

good luck, insurance will not ask you either, they just want your dosh

You seem to have a good dose of common sense - just stick with that.
