Title: Roller Shuttle Cleaning...
Post by: Craig on July 23, 2013, 08:50:04 pm
Looking for a bit of advice. Got a job to price and not sure what the best route to go down is.

Have been asked to clean Galvanised Steel roller shutters. Can't pressure wash them as its on a row of shops and will just cause a mess... So looking for advice on what chemicals to use etc.

It's just bare steel, not been painted, and is badly oxidised as well... Have advised it would be a lot easier to paint it, but they want it cleaned for some reason  ???

If you can't wash down then you would need to spray and wipe. Best bet is to use a foamer then the product stays on the surface longer to do its job. Leave it to dwell them just wipe off.
This is what you would need:

Hydroflouric acid brings them up mint.... however they made need treating with some kind of protective spray after, ie silicone or other do stop oxidisation

Well and truly in my place ;)

Been busy with a late job, on a local store and getting the website up and running for another business venture - the Farrow System.

Just got my third business idea - maybe I am getting above myself ???

Little bit of tweaking on the original website and then onto the third one.

I had a thought today - I was cleaning a tumbled drive that was said to be 36 Sq m which was more like 180, outside a converted barn that had just had heaps spent on it. I might buy one of those hplv airless sprayer doo dars and make a fortune toshing black jap over old barns. Maybe I'll just stick to what I'm doing and scraping a meagre crust  ;)

Yes as usual, part way through 500 sq of sandstone patio and 36 pieces Teak furniture full restore. Everything cleaned this week and started to re-oil, quoting tomorrow in Soho, indoor health club pool surround all decking, so should be interesting, I did give your details out to a call we got this week down here house wash all render, thought it might be ideal for the Farrow.

Thanks for that Rog. I'll wait for the call.

Put it in for a full service a week ago, still waiting for the lambswool filter, I think they ordered the wrong one and are waiting for the second one to come in.

What are you doing with the sandstone?

Never ever lay with 4 corners together! Never use "straight lines " more than 2m. Some of the joint widths are a little dubious too .

It is about £12 off me for a gallon but you can probably get it off Chris's mate who knocks it up in his garden shed forabout 30p iincluding p&p.  I don't know why I bother importing a 1000 Gallons of it a time from Aqua Mix? I think I will start getting it off his mate in his shed ???

If you want it call me on 0121 705 5333 tomorrow and i will sort you a trade account.
