Hello Gents,
If money was no object and you wanted to build the ultimate pressure washing 3.5t van, what would your build spec include?
Let me start....
1300 litre water tank.....
On board generator to power lights at night.....
-
Your over weight already.
-
Only if you carry the water to the job ;D
-
What would be your ideal van set up Chris if you had out of hours commercial work to do?
-
David
Your describing my Transit LWB ;)
Rob ;D

Iveco dailey 5 tonner mwb semi high , registered as "plant" (no tacho, red diesel, cheap tax,no mot) .With heavy duty door runners! 205hp common rail. Maybe even with pto take off to drive pressure washer pump instead of pressure washer in van (200 nm of torque from the pto it will work a Hiab or a winch it should spin a HP pump) . Maybe something like this http://www.allpressuresprayersdirect.co.uk/hwb-hydraulic-pump-units-for-pressure-washers

-
Your overweight
The OP stated 3.5T.
Come on Chris - read the post ;)
Rob ;D
-
Why bother with a 3.5 t if all you are doing is commercial? 5 tonners are cheaper ...nobody wants them.
It would all go in a 3.5 any way ..just the bowser would be a problem.
-
Might be wrong here but after 97 3.5tonne is what most can drive without sitting another test.
I can't drive 5 tonne on my license. I can tow a combined weight of 5.5 tonne. Over 3.5 tonne you are on tacho anyway!!
Stay up to 3.5 tonne!

Not if it's plant.
Same with tractors ,16 year olds on there mobile ,L plates on , in Dads jcb fast trac towing a trailer with a 20 excavator on the back...all very legal.
The weight of your 4x4 and Farrow system is what ? Tacho?
-
Oh god :-[ - despite your onesie wearing I agree with you again.
I am going to attempt to set one of my vehicles up as plant. Give me a link Christophe.

It is a mine field and Vosa don't give you any real advice since they have been privatised! it will take me a little time but will research it for you so you are well educated when you apply for exemption.
Read these to start with.

Depends if it's my giro week..might not have the diesel money otherwise.
Why have they found a place big enough to accommodate Rhinoman and Reece's ego's?
I have received my free "signing up gift" which to be fair was quite interesting. I am always up for learning and I do feel i could benefit from attending. ..as i really dont have a clue how to run a business .
The people who are running it are top class and am fully conversant with their products and techniques...they have a lot to bring too the party So yes i will be attending.
Are you picking me up? i don,t think my van will make it that far!
-
what signing up gift did you receive chris, was it the cleaning manual or something different that I should expect

Hello Chris,
Pie warmer and pink wellies, like your style. Never thought of a 5 tonner. I will be scanning Ebay & Autotrader later. Is 500 bar needed? Great machine but very expensive........only if I had the cash. ;D
-
I have a Hot & Mighty (imported by Roger - on here) upgraded to a 35LPM pump, twin outlet, two cox reels on a shelf, with 100 metre one inch hose underneath, by the back doors. 1400 litre tank between drivers cab & machine.
Exhausted both the burner & exhaust through the roof. It is just a pleasure to use.
Rob ;D
-
Have looked at the H&M machines on Ebay, they do look very good. Have you got any pics of your van?
-

Looks proper smart. Looks a beast of a machine.
-

Just see the tank in this one
(http://i41.tinypic.com/dyoq6b.jpg)
There you go. Changed the hose reel on the left hand side for one that will hold 120 metres and as I said underneath the shelf 1 x 100 metre 1 inch hose reel. I think Lee has just bought one
Rob ;D
-
The machine in the back of my van has "made in England" cast on the pump
-
OOOOhhhhhhh Carl.
We've had this one before. I love the yanks ;D
They are more broke than we are as a country but are not bright enough to see that their economy is knackered, see
Detroit.
You will notice from recent posts I like to support those that are challenged ;D
Rob ;D
-
Do you mean reversed ?
-
;D ;D
My support is international.
If I could have bought English for the price I paid for the H & M I would have done, as you will remember I got it second hand from Roger and at the time I would not have been able to buy the similar one from Tech-clean.
Rob ;D
-
Personally I would not buy from them unless I really had to - I don't feel a member of staff is entirely honest with me.
-
I did get one Rob, quality! Got about 110m on it at the moment.
-
Have you built a reducer mate to fit onto a 15mm supply, if you need to?
Rob ;D

You said money was no problem!
I would run 2 small machines independent and not fitted into a van.
Interpump ws252 are the weapons of choice there is no need for anything bigger.

I'll take a pic tomorrow mate

Is it on the trailer?

Rob ;D
Is what on mate?
-
Of coarse you have told your insurance you have"modified" your van ;D
-
The hose reel mate
Chris - my insurers are aware of all my vehicles and any modifications ;)
Rob ;D
-
Well it will be mate. At the moment the flatbed trailer has nothing on it. The Falch T3H has had some rewiring done and works great and gets really hot. That's getting mounted this week on the trailer then the big reel will go on along with a cox reel I had sent over from Ultimate Washers.
-
I would send the TW*TS a picture too so they full understand what the are insuring and who did the modifications...never trust insurance companies! They just say yes and take your money.
-
How about one of these.........

-
Or this.....
http://www.tech-clean.co.uk/index.php/products/industrial-hot-pressure-washer-skid-mounted-hot-pressure-washers/
-
That is similar to mine.
Difference is mine is a 24HP engine and 35LPM. I was going to go for a 45 LPM pump but left it a little tight on the heater
Rob ;D
-
The jetter in my van sits on a pair of rails - take the exhaust off, two bolts and the whole shooting match lifts out. This is done every year to service and clean it - if it breaks down a loan machine would slide in to keep me working
-
Or this.....
http://www.tech-clean.co.uk/index.php/products/industrial-hot-pressure-washer-skid-mounted-hot-pressure-washers/
250 bar at 21lpm *** from***£8000+vat Expensive!
14 Briggs ,ws252,gearbox,hotbox, whirl a way £2900 incl
I rarely use heat but the hot box ...gives me the option. Two machines will put 250 bar at 42lpm on the floor plus you always have a spare machine if the sh** hits the fan you can get the job finished albeit slower. 4 Hoses split into 10m sections so always have a spare. Weight is around 100kgs per machine .1000 litre ibc 50% full and two machines with hoses etc ,driver etc should be near limit.Taking into account the van will be 2000kgs.
-

Cheaper version to the H&M, nothing wrong with that, except when you start putting this kind of kit on a trailer weight will become an issue, which has been spoken about before on here. Van mount is a better way to go, just check that you are legal, Chris will no doubt tell you the do's & don'ts though, and NO it is not another dig at you Chris, just that you like to help people that can't be bothered to do the research for themselves ;D
-
Roger you were a haulage industry big hitter before you retired into deck chair refurbs

deck chair refurbs

At one time, Carl, but used to put events together and have class 1 so would haul the things around europe when needed.
-
That was my point ;)
-
The van set up ive got now is my perfect set up.. simples.. ;D
-
Go on then......what's the spec >: ;D
-
Seen as though people are whipping their c**ks out.

Different machine mate yes. Not ours. We're doing all Manchester city centre public paving 5 nights a week for a national company and they've supplied us with 1 of 8 of their machines.
This one here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N19D3GlkVoc
It's not supposed to take the gum off too mate. Still need to spot gum. The way we work is scate at 500 bar on heat 100c max(really fast!!!), then split to 2 lances 15 each and rinse and spot gum. Currently cleaning King St in town.
-
Gonna mount it this morning Trev on the trailer at pauls. Hook the trailer up to one of my balls and drag! ;)
-
Mike, this is the video you seen of the 500 bar scating https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTkk8CPmpNE
Sound is crap as the microphone is goosed on my phone.
