Title: Chemical venture/Vario nozzle
Post by: Matt Gibson on July 20, 2013, 11:38:32 am
Righto,

I have an inside of a factory unit to clean & degrease. Its quite a large area, and its walls and steel rafters and inside the roof to clean too so i dont want to be filling up spray packs to spray on the degreaser.

I was thinking of using my chemical injection, dropping the feed in a drum of degreaser, but ive not really used the chem injection before. Do i need a variable nozzle like this?

Or will i need something like a foam nozzle (tripple the price)

I was under the assumption that you drop the chem feed in the chem drum, turn the vario nozzle pressure down and spray.

ST51 is a better nozzle holder ...just twist for low pressure and chemical injection.

Cheers mate.

Anyone know of a decent foaming nozzle? Just the nozzle. qwashers do a foaming twin lance, but im after a nozzle i can chuck on the end of my lance, open up the chem feed and get foam.

seems like if you use a vario or low pressure nozzle with chem feed it doesnt really foam up. is it something inside the foam nozzles that causes it to foam? Like a filter or bit of mesh?

Matt, if your running your 50+odd meter of hose then your venture won't work properly due to the pressure needed to force the water up the hose, you may be able to get a larger/higher psi activated venture but not sure...
Heres what I do (and it works brilliantly! Ideal for your application).....
Buy a foam bottle from Damien at q services, and 2 or 3 meters of 1/4 braided hose, also a small chemical injector filter (1/4 inch barb type, although this item is not compulsory).
When you get all your bits, unsrew the bottle and take the short 1/4 hose off the foam bottle that goes inside the bottle, replace it with your 2 - 3 meter length of 1/4 inch hose and put the filter (if you have one) on the end of it.
All you need to do now is drop the pipe and filter into your drum of tfr and fire away!! I can text you a picture of mine if you need one.
it works great and foams up every thing in sight with out the need to keep filling a little 1 litre botlle up. I have run hypo through it and all kinds, works everytime!
Be carefull though if you have a k type unloader as this may make your unloader pulse, if this is the case, speak to Damien and see if there is a fowm bottle to suit.

Hope it helps
 ;D

Just put your chemical in your tank and then spray the area and use the tank full, refill the tank with clean water and wash down. Obviously you need the chemical at your dilution rate in the tank. Thats how I do it anyway. You'll also need to watch the waste flow into the rivers etc etc etc before the do gooders start if they're not mixing sealers in their bath  ;D

carl,

Dont worry mate, im pumping all the waste water/degreaser/greasy oily water into the local river. Im all over this environmentally friendly stuff ;D

Puddle pump and fire the waste pipe down the  internal toilet ;D .

You can hire them cheaply and will clear the standing water on a floor to 1mm then squeegee or mop. Finish with a petrol back pack blower .
