mine has been swelling under pressure before the pole tap since this heatwave began and has now burst.

This exceptionally hot weather can have quite an effect on softer un-reinforced hose such as pole hose particularly when it is under pressure.

What can be done whilst the weather is this hot is switch to some PU hot water hose for the short length between the end coupling and the valve. - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Telescopic-Pole-Hose-Packs-Hose_Packs.html or http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Orange-PU-Hot-Water-Hose-8mm-OD---100m-PU_ORANGE_100M.html.

To help with hose in push-fittings in this weather (if not using PU hose) then you can fit one of these and fasten with an O clip:

Thanks alex , have already ordered some of those as i guessed it would be the answer.

i am replacing the length up to the valve with some stiffer hose off an old pole .

That's a good idea.

We are just not used to such weather (not that I am complaining!)
