Title: 4040 ro membrane-high ppm
Post by: C.C.S. on July 15, 2013, 09:10:00 pm
Hi all.i purchased a low pressure 40' ro membrane from daqua exactly one year ago .about 4-5 months ago the ppm began to rise from 18ppm (that's the lowest I could get out of it) to 25,35and now 45 ppm.i flushed it for 3 hours changed the 20''   prefilters and the same ppm,45.i thought I would get 2-3 years out of it before changing.could it be my luck and got a bad one? What kind of warranty do they normally came with? Maybe I should contact daqua first before spending £200 plus on a new membrane. What's he best place to buy from these days? Thanks

If you take the membrane out of the pressure vessel, is the inside of the vessel slimy to the touch?  If so, you have bacteriological fouling and you need to replace the whole shebang (including filters) after taking out all the filters and membrane and running bleach through the system.

If it's like that and you just replace the membrane, you'll wreck that within three months (as I know to my cost).

Have a check and let us know then if it is slimy I'll tell you how I run the bleach through.

Vin
