Yes you will miss it if you don't have it. It's not necessary, but a nice luxury to have. AC was one of the requirements for my new van, luckily I was able to get a van with it and low mileage for the price I wanted to pay.

Really aircon? We live in the UK...  I lived in the states for 8 years were it was a necessity but here an open window should suffice.  Your choice but I wouldn't bother with the extra costs

Live I said its not a necessity, but when you have been working all day in 25 plus heat, sticking the aircon on feels lovely.

Also what extra costs are there with ac? It costs virtually nothing to have on.

Air con isn't inexhaustible,  it requires coolant and servicing.  You'll also find that it would have some effect on your MPG.

I can understand the desire as it is a bit of luxury but not a necessity for me.

its expensive when it goes wrong but not that expensive for servicing.

having your windows open also affects mpg so thats not really an issue .

I couldn't do without it tbh.

I'd always pick a lower mileage over air con though...

Aircon is fantastic. When I get a case of CBA, ten minutes of aircon and an icecold drink and I'm good for another hour or so.

Ours is on now - keeps the whole middle floor cool if the office and bedroom doors are left open.
