Title: What should I do...
Post by: Knocker on July 09, 2013, 10:04:22 pm
I need a new squeegee rubber should I buy 3 twelve inch rubbers or one strip of thirty six inch rubber and cut in 3, what should I do?

The 36" rubber would work out cheaper, but I am really lazy, so I would buy 3 12" rubbers! Think of the time you will save not having to go find a sharp blade and cut it!!

Buy the 36 as I find that the 12 need a couple of mill off em anyways otherwise your going to have water n soap all over your edges. Check wagga out on youtube and find out how to dogear, saves loads of time.

Red or Blue are daft colours for a window cleaners bucket, someone may kick it or trip on it. It should ideally be bright yellow with a suitable warning on it.

You don't need a window cleaning bucket, just pop to B&Q and buy one of their 99p orange buckets! The small applicators fit in just fine, but you will need to dip one half then the other when using bigger applicators!

+ 1.

Why not get five different colours, then you've got one for each day of the working week

More evidence of wind up:  36" rubbers are cheaper than 3x12".  Why would you want to buy 3?  (Ignore Nice'n'Clean - he's twigged the wind-up as well ;D)

Check with your insurance to make sure you are covered to
handle and cut rubber.
Hope you have carried out a risk assessment on the dangers of rubber
cutting.
Before starting to cut make sure you cordon off the work area. ;D

Perhaps safer to stand on something non-slip while cutting.
Not sure if anyone has got some sort of mat you could stand on.
Yellow is probably the grippiest colour.
