You can always try one of our supporting insurance providers such as A-Plan here:

Over 2 grand a year :o
Just got mine renewed through Go Compare, £225 for the year fully comp through Gladiator. Don't know what they'll be like for someone with points and no no claims bonus though, might be worth getting a quote.

doesn't sound that bad considering the number of convictions you've had to be honest.
i was paying £450 a month in jan as i had 2 employees, one with a previous driving ban.
i reckon you are lucky they insure you at all with all those points.
A plan are your best bet though. they know the market well and will advise you well

I found 'budget insurance' to be good when I had a few claims and lost all my ncb. They came out cheapest for me back then.

canvass for three nights pick up 50 a night then it costs you virtually nothing and you will be able to afford it, oh and dont drink and drive ;-)
-
Try driving slower, youve got yourself to blame.
-
Sell your van to someone else, go down as a named driver.
-
Try One Business insurance I have a mini fleet policy with them and have 4 vehicles on it insured for any driver over 21 and cost me £700 per vehicle and this includes breakdown cover as well

Who in their right mind would go as main driver on anything he would be driving?

sorry mate, i thought totting up meant drinking, my misstake

That is known as fronting, which is classed as fraud, it will cost you in the long run and then never get insured again.
Quit whinging and pay up, you did the offences, you pay the price.
I got caught speeding at 142mph 13 years ago, I paid through the nose for insurance for a long time, but I didn't whinge - it was me that was twisting the throttle so was the only one to blame.

I agree for the last five years my insurance, me alone with 5+ years no claims on a vivaro has been over £1100 and upto £1700 at the start. My points finally went this year and my quote was a fair £514 and then I went and bought another van...doh! So i'm back paying £1500 for two vans.
One thing that does frustrate me though is that I get screwed because I live in Oldham, apparently one of the worst places to insure in the country.

Mine was for driving without insurance btw not drinking, but it's one of them things, you do the crime then....

jack your prices up a tad if its hurting you so badly
