Title: Spotting machine
Post by: cannon on July 08, 2013, 04:19:33 pm
Im looking for spotting machine recommendations.

I have some upholstery to clean in multiple locations within the same complex and dont fancy dragging the porty round, so i'm looking at getting a spotting machine.

Ive been looking at the karcher puzzis but i'm leaning toward the e-line sabrina I just think they look a bit better and a bit more professional.

Any others I should take a look at?

I bought an oldschool prochem spot-pro body from a cc in reading with (as it turned out) a rusty vac motor and u/s pump and just got the part numbers off the vac (2 stage) and pump from italy (ebay) and found new items online - its perfectly serviceable to all intents new and earned me its cost in first few weeks - previously I had used an old wet vac and then just used spray bottles of various things - now I just fill the pro-spot with microsplitter and go in with the little money-spinner 40 or 50 quid minimum - you know it makes sense and looks professional! The solution line is non-standard size but you just keep the hand tool with it

Sabrina is the machine that I was starting with.
But that not the sort of machine for every day use, not good for upholstery, unless you are looking for the troubles with over wetting etc

I had a CFR pro spotter which was great apart from the stupid retractable vac hose.. also it uses mini quick connects so you are stuffed if you want to use other tools.
I now use an Ashbys spotter with a built in steam boosted heater, not the most powerful vac in the world but the build quality and supplied hoses and tool make this machine very useful indeed.

Here is a vid of me using it on an office chair... http://youtu.be/vXTLQm3DlTc
