a helper will increase the workload done by a third. the real advantage is 1- you will feel better physically
2- it will force you to up your game now somebody is relying on you for their livelihood ,theres no going back to casual days off

Michael,
There are advantages and disadvantages, but a very good advantage that is normally over looked, is if you where ill for a lengthy period, you would have a lot of worry taken away from you, knowing the work was getting done, speaking from experience.

Im very close to employing now and i read all these employing posts with interest. I think its just as important to view your abailties as an employer, and it is to look at the skills of your employee.
I think quite often (just my opinion) that a lot of the times these bad experiences are down to bad interview technique, bad training, bad recruitment in general. I think you really have to look at yourself when advertising for a job. Think to yourself, what sort of job am i offering? How can i make them care about the job? How can I keep the employee interested, engaged.
Just having the attitude of 'oh they are lucky to have a job' is not enough if you want competent, loyal staff.
Like i say, i dont employ anyone yet, but this is the way i see it

i totally agree with that great post, that i why i have decided to just purify my round to great work, doing as little work as possible while maintaining maximum profits, all off my own back employing is not at all for me i dont think

g. brookes's is post is very good.
In my experience you get one and three-quarters work done by two men.
To clarify:
If 1 does £200 then two will do £350.
-
but not if say one can do 400 and use nearly all 650 litrs, becasue you would run out of wate r and staff need breaks etc
