after giving it much thought and consideration ive decided to buy an EXTREME 47.ive also ordered a 90 degree gooseneck and all the quick loc fittings to upgrade my brushes and goosenecks.
ive been struggling to be honest with cleaning solar panels and velux windows on both my commercial and domestic accounts using my 40 ft supermax.the main problem im having with this pole is the rigidity is not very good when on angles.it also feels very heavy and its straining my shoulders and arms even though im a big lad.i dread using it for these jobs! ;D ;D ;D
im hoping the EXTREME is a vast improvement and will cut down strain to a minimum.the extra 7 foot should come in handy as well!
so to those guys that have got this pole, are you happy with it? ;D ;D ;D
im hoping alex sends me a new cap as well as my old one is a bit worn now!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
best wishes to you all

Dazmond you baffle me ??? ???
You wont buy a smartphone for work and pay £10:00 a month for Aworka but you will spend hundreds of £££ on poles ??? ??? . Mike
-
mike im happy with george mate.PDA is great now ive sorted the bluetooth sync! ;D ;D ;D
i have got a HTC smartphone but i dont want my work on it.i prefer to have my separate PDA.
yes ive spent a lot on poles but i work hard and im earning a lot more money than i used to.im also getting more and more bigger jobs.both domestic and commercial, solar panel cleaning etc.
the 40 ft supermax wont get used when i get the extreme! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
best wishes

ive not decided what im doing with my supermax yet ben.i might keep it as a spare or sell it cheap to a fellow windy i know whos struggling a bit.i gave him a 25 ft hydra then sold him a clx 22 for £40.he s not in the best of shape and uses a backpack for his work.it just might give him a push to go and find some better work.

Daz what brush and hose you got m8?
Are you having a aquadapter or a pole tap? ;D
Let me know how good the extreme is as i might get one.you have more poles than me >:(
However sl40 is fantastic. ;D
I need to try the new gardiners hose and wouldnt mind a extreme pole.
-
the main reason ive bought this pole is this.i find it no problem using 22 and 25ft SLXs day in/day out for lots of work with very little strain but as soon as i start cleaning anything higher using the supermax i really feel the strain on my shoulders and arms.
i dont want to get RSI as i work on my own with an increasing workload/higher/awkward jobs so this is the final pole in my arsenal.
looking at some of the pics of other guys using extreme poles at height sealed it for me! ;D ;D ;D

I agree daz.i had the supermax and using on big commercials i found heavy and whippy and after 4 or 5 hours on the glass my crook neck felt it.

windiewasher no aqua-daptor at this height mate!pole tap!as for goosenecks its a range of carbon ones.im also upgrading to the quick loc system for changing brushes quickly.ive ordered a 90 degree gooseneck specifically for cleaning solar panels and conny roofs.
ive also ordered the new gardiner PU pole hose which is similar to aqua-daptor hose(hopefully!) ;D ;D ;D

similar to aqua-daptor hose? are you having a laugh? aqua dapter is rubbish, worse pole hose i never had, the new gardiner pole hose is great, no prob at all and so much cheaper!

Aquadapter hose is great.i use it as shoe laces as the knots are great ;D
I like the quicklock for the brushes.
Which goosneck do you prefer?

Got the 25' extreme couple weeks ago,
most noticeable thing was how rigid it is,big difference over 25'slx IMO.
Made mistake of getting the yellow pvc hose, nip hose to stop flow and like the hose but not so good for this.
The length of PU hose that came with the gooseneck is PU and seems to work very well at stopping flow,so will be on my next order,
so a wee tip for anyone who nips hose try the hot water PU one ;)
So great pole and very rigid.
-
Think Alex has run out of those caps,my head is all sunburnt :(
-
im thinking of getting the 47 extreme pole, know its not as light and probably not as rigid as gardiners modular pole biut is it as rigis as a mk. 1 slx. its purely for commercial jobs where I cant be assed with a modular pole as I have plenty of high level commercial work.
-
Daz il buy the sl off u m8
-
Daz ref the gooseneck - make sure u get a long one as the 47 i borrow occasionally has a short 90 degree gooseneck and it causes the pole to catch on leading edge of solar panels on some jobs. ... at full stretch on solar panels its still has a fair bit of bend in pole but fantastic bit of kit !!
-
Gardiners phoned me today.pole is getting delivered tomorrow!so ill do a review later on in the week with pics.as I've got about 10 jobs ill be using it on this week. ;D ;D
-
Daz, I'll be real interested to see what you think of the Extreme. Please keep us informed of what you reckon. Cheers Pete
-
Do u like window cleaning Daz.?
-
I've had two since they came out and wouldn't use anything else now. Maybe not the best value for money compared to the SLX at shorter lengths. You really need to look at the type of work you want to use it for. A twenty five or thirty footer with extensions is probably the best pole for most of us with residential rounds. 47 foot upwards is only for commercial work really.
Too late now Daz, but you really don't need all those poles at all.
-
I'd recommend an sl2 pole from gardiners after you've finished playing with this one dazmond. Go on, you know you want one. ;D
Being modular it can be a pain, but is very good for cleaning windows at height which don't require a gooseneck. It becomes slightly unwieldy then. One of my best wc purchases ever.
I haven't tried your arsenal of poles though so I have nothing to compare it against.
-
dave my 22 and 25 SLXs get used everyday mate with aqua-daptors and their fantastic at this height but anything above 25 ft and i feel the strain with the supermax.
the extreme 47 will replace the supermax on all jobs over 25 ft both commercial, domestic and increasingly solar panel cleaning.
mark i wont be buying a modular pole mate.47 ft is my limit.ive no interest in jobs over 47 ft! ;D ;D ;D ;D
pete ill do a full review at the end of the week on the extreme and tell you what i think. ;D ;D
sfwc i love window cleaning!!it earns me a good living these days!lol. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
