Just got some from www.engelbertstrauss.co.uk in the sale i got S3 thermal safety boots Ontario with removable thermal boot liner which is like a boot itself .
They are built for scandinavian winters windproof ,waterproof and breathable i wore them yesterday and they they were really comfortable defo built to last .
Allegedly waterproof Karrimor boots have gone in the bin waste of money ,
The new boots were £54.99 ex vat normally £81.99 . Summer is defo the time to buying winter boots as they sell them cheaper. Mike

I've heard a few people now say Karrimor boots are crap. I'm on my 2nd pair, first pair lasted about 18 months before they started to let water in which IMO isn't bad for a £25 pair of boots.

You are right Deegee about take over last 2 pairs of Karrimor boots were knackered after 3 months and let water in even after re-proofing .
So thought I spend a bit more money on something that is man enough to cope with all the walking and wet weather we windys endure. Mike

if you want decent boots you dont have to pay a fortune
go on a fishing website you can get boots like chub and rockhoppers
ive stood in and waked through streamy sections of rivers and never
let a drop in.£30-£50 a pair a real bargain

Hobbits have massive hairy feet bud.
It's perhaps fair to say that you are more slender of foot.
Can't speak on the hirsute issue though.
;D

True Hobitt's do have big feet , But on the Hirsute issue i think your getting hobitts mixed up with Dwarves i dont think the snow in winter really bothers them . Mike

Karrimor ARE rubbish.
Previously used a few different styles of Hi-Tec that weren't bad for £20-30.
Berghaus Explorer Ridge are the best I've used so far!
Comfortable straight out of the box & Gore-tex, so very waterproof! £100 but well worth ever penny IMHO! ;D
