firstly never allow more than one clean without payment, for the life of me i will never understand cleaners allowing customers 3 or 4 cleans.
secondly, when you do get paid tell them its now standing orders only and when the payment comes thru then clean
thirdly, if none of the above works........replace them

Cliff,
I've started moving all of my slow payers onto Direct Debit via GoCardless >> www.gocardless.com
It works very well.

Residential custys get knocked early on a morning and they pay up then get dumped if i think they have been taking the pee .
When i take on a new custy i now take full name email address and telephone numbers , so they will get hounded one way or another if the start taking the pee with payment .
I will be using new payment cards for all of my custys and they will be informed that payment needs to be made within 3 days of clean any consistent late payers will get dumped . Mike

Hi
Like probably a few on here i offer
1 cash on day paid or left out somewhere.
2 chq on day or in self addressed envelope provided.
3 via my website on card
4 via my website on paypal.
5 via my bank account on bacs
5 ways to pay and u still get a few that mess u around.
Standing is an idea but how does that work for 6 weekly customers ?
-
Sack em Cliff , Standing order or bacs payments can be cancelled in seconds by a customer who uses online banking simples .
You are offering them more than enough options, I find that with some custys that as soon as you offer them bacs payments they see it as an excuse to delay payment as they think you wont go knocking at their door . Mike

It's not a monthly direct debit... You initiate a payment once you've cleaned the customers windows...
Sign up and try it.

Hi andy sais they charge you 1% per transaction
How much do you pay on a £15 invoice as that cant be correct.
Cheers cliff

Has the one on D--e Way paid Cliff?

Hi Cliff
1% is correct. You would pay 15p on a £15 invoice. I've been using it for a couple of months now.

I disagree; I think every customer should be treated on an individual basis. I do a doctor's house - what happens is that he'll end up six month in arrears, then he'll pay me for those six months, and then for six months in advance.
One year later, he's six months in arrears and he'll pay me for that, and then six months in advance.
We've been playing this game for years now.

I agree with Tosh...
I do have a few slow payers... Some of them forget / some of them delay for no valid reason / I have noticed that others wait until the end of the month until they pay me, so they are obviously waiting to get paid before paying me.
However - It is my biggest annoyance of the business... I would much rather be in control of my cash flow - That's why I'm moving all my slow payers over to Direct Debit - And ALL new customers are being setup on Direct Debit.

Thats easier said than done and would be business suicide if you dump customers if they dont pay after every clean on time. I have customers who owe 6/8 months of cleaning and 1 who pays me yearly for the last 4 years. As annoying as it is i still get it in the end, i never choose to replace and dump unless they give me endless grief from day 1 which is rare thank god.
as a rule i now only collect from custers that owe 3 or more cleans and the rest pay either on day or through bank or cheque.

Hi all
I agree
I have a few that pay me on every 3rd clean and it does annoy me but i know i will get it.
Its the 1s that dont pick the phone up or answer texts and obviously take the pee.
I only have a few and they know they are taking the pee.
Theese are the 1s i have no time for and because of that i let them go.
Lifes to short to get stressed over them sack em and replace.cant be doing with that sort no more.
We all get them and its down to each and every cleaner to put up with it or not.
Good evening cliff
