i am looking to buy a submersible pump but i dont understand what it means when it say max pumping head , i want mine to pump about 40 meters what pumping head do i need many thanks
-
it means how far it will pump above its self like if your emptying a pond or something.
-
what size do i need to pump 45 meters to van :)
-
Dont worry about the max pumping head thing as this means a straight vertical upright lift, yours is prob a 1 metre deep tank anyway? so it wont be a problem going up out the tank along the floor if u know what i mean. Just go 4 the best ltrs per min pump? I got mine off ebay for £40 1000w. good luck

macs correct,
mines pumps to 8 head lift but this is vertically mines ruining 13 meters to the van its fine. Just make sure u connect 2 inch hosing at 45 meters away otherwise you may b there for a while./

I use 2 and 3000 gallon per hour 12v bilge pumps,it takes around 10 mins to fill a 1000L tank @10meters range.
It's only pumping the water uphill that effects the flow(and weak batteries).

Sip submersible pump from www.toolstation.com at £56.00 pumps 200 l/pm The Silverline pump at £35.00 broke on me after 4 weeks just stopped working so got a better one .
Second option www.machinemart.co.uk you can get a Clarke pump for £41.99 which will pump 133 l/pm
You can also get reinforced suction delivery hose from machine mart as well , I currently use 30 mtrs of aquatic pond hose which works really well i use 1, 1/2 inch hose you can get it from a local aquatic shop . Mike
