Title: Pulex rubbers
Post by: Dave Willis on June 26, 2013, 10:46:40 pm
I used to have Unger rubbers but found they tended to catch on fanning (soft). I changed to Pulex and found it better.
However, lately they don't seem to clear the glass of moisture.
Any ideas? they are virtually new, flipping the rubber makes no difference.  ???

I use Pulex but have found the last batch I purchased is doing the same.
Cant figure it out.

I Notice , moisture , occasionally, when using them on a pole ....

i had similat experience of pulex ,some not lasting 1 day

a while ago i bought a couple of Moerman rubbers to try out. theres a bit of a learning curve to them as they are somewhere midway between hard and soft , but i now reaally rate this rubber , it never nicks and lasts ages iv found .  i now buy them in packs of 10  at 42 inch length from cleaning spot

It seems to evaporate off but might take two passes sometimes to make sure. Maybe I'll wipe them over with a degreaser and try that.

If you have got some IPA in liquid form or wipes as that will de-grease and evaporate without leaving any trace on the rubbers . Mike

Been using SYR rubber for about 7 years now, it's brilliant. I actually prefer it to Ettore, and it's a fraction of the price.

Unger and Pulex are both not that great.

We're all hard down this way - even the water's hard!

Regular rubber I think I bought. Maybe try a different flavour.

I have another theory ........ I use those Unger clips that sort of dog ear the rubber - could be the blades are a bit wavey due to the weather. I'll give um a little stretch I think. The clips would stop the rubber straightening itself out probably.

had this before thought the channel must have a bend in it. changed it but still the same problem its just cr*p rubber you get now & again. ive had new rubber that left lines of water the first time it was used.

Mrs was boiling some veg tonight and steamed the kitchen up - could see all the trail marks and areas where the blade had left moisture behind  :o

Bugger! Have to try something else. My custies insides must be as crap as mine.

Im using an unger squeegee so I tend to use unger rubbers, Pulex are a slightly different profile and seem very loose in channel I.E they are taller and stick out too high, cant get a good finish with them especially when fanning, maybe ok in a pulex channel?
