Title: Solution to put on WFP brush head to remove stubborn bird poo at around 50ft.
Post by: Dean Taberner on June 26, 2013, 04:22:24 pm
Hi guys,

Does anybody know of this type of solution,

Its for a commercial job where a cherry picker isn't possible as we've been quoted at approx £1k to close the required road off. Its around 50ft up and the bird poo won't budge at all.

One option would be to tape a scraper to the head but I was thinking that some form of chemical solution that won't totally destroy the brush and tds readings would be a better option,

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Dean

A bucket of boiled water, dip the brush in it, straight up on to the glass.

I would try a strong mix of g101 and run it up with a back pack. Then plug reel back in to finish it off.

A bucket of boiled water, dip the brush in it, straight up on to the glass.
And crack the glass at the same time and ruin your brush, talk about killing two bird poos with one pole!
Wet the glass and  come back to the window in question a few minutes later and scrub again and you will find it will come away alot easier.

A good soaking with Virosol seems to break it down if left to soak. How about a plastic ice scraper fixed to the end of a pole?

Had a 3rd storey office windows covered in baked on seagull poop a while back I soaked them for a few minutes then on one pole we fitted an unger mop with the large green pad and used this to scrub while the other kept the glass wet with the standard WFP came pretty quickly and as we then did the insides could check it had all been removed

Dean, do you have any Citrusol left? Spray some of that on your brush head neat. That will shift it for sure.  :)

Recently did 60ft, which hadn't been cleaned in years, with hot water, and Gardiners sill brush, stiff. Some really bad areas of bird mess.

Only way to ensure cleanliness was to have a spotter inside the building. Took a while, but the hot did the trick.
