Title: Sebo Dart 2
Post by: stuart_clark on June 16, 2013, 02:28:39 pm
I bought two sebo Dart 2s a year gone January and it looks like the Brush motor has failed on one of them, does anyone know how long the warantee lasts on them ? I had a felix but that wasn't a commercial vacume and that had a five year warantee but i think a comercial is a good deal less

Craig

You may be correct as we just supplied 4 x Sebo Felix to a customer and they have a 5 Year warranty but they are the Domestic version of the Dart although they are identical but the warranty in the Commercial machines is different and it variesa slightly as well on Model and Country of supply.

Unless it has changed recently, SEBO warranties on their commercial machines are 12 months.  Domestic models are 5 years BUT if they are used commercially (sold to a business as opposed to a member of the general public) then it reduces to 12 months also.

I thought it was a 5 year guarantee not warranty? or to be more exact a 'parts guarantee' although obviously there will be be 1 year warranty as well.

SEBO Commercial are 12 Months and Domestic are 5 Years provided they are used for Domestic Use only and the guarantee card and machine is registered with SEBO after purchase

Yep the BS 36 is a more durable machine but it's heavier and SEBO tell me more CC's have the Dart but they are bringing out a new Hybrid Model.

Personally, I don't rate any of the commercial vacuums, they just don't have enough suction, the tools are poor and the hoses are generally too short.

They may be robust but I don't think they do their job properly!

Well ive had six sebos and ive bought my last, I think there are far better vacume cleaners out there ! Even Dyson do a commercial cleaner with a five year warantee

Change the bags early between half full and 3/4 full, I find that keeps suction strong.

The BS36 normally last forever, my first one was nearly fifteen years old and its still going strong, I bought a few Darts because i thought they were more agile, but no were near as reliable

OK it looks like there is clearly a problem with Dart then!  This many people can't have it wrong.  I intend to speak to SEBO UK about it this afternoon and if I don't get a satisfactory reply I will speak to SEBO Germany Technical Department and let you know all what the outcome is!

OK as promised I have spoken to SEBO Technical and they said:

Two years ago last January so January 2011 the SEBO Dart had too many problems with the Ametek motors going.  SEBO made the decision from January 2011 to fit the Dart with a new Motor made by Siemens.  Since then they have never had a single motor go Worldwide unless it was through water damage!
Therefore for those of you that have a SEBO Dart which is relatively new and the Motor has gone if you e mail me the serial number SEBO are prepared to send me replacement Siemens Motors which I will fit free of charge.
So now you have no excuse if you have a Dart with a problem unless the motor went through water damage!

Now that's Service ;D ;D
