Am considering asking customers to pay by direct debit how does this work is anyone else doing it ???
-
I have started to get more of my customers to pay via Internet banking.i have a business account and just give them the account number and sort code,I then ask them to use their address as a reference.
Most like this method it's very easy.

I have started this but some of them seem to drag out paying was looking to creat an ensured amount of banked money each week if u get what i mean

I'm currently in the process of moving all slow payers over to direct debit >> www.iconicwindowcleaning.co.uk/directdebit
I'm also explaining to all new customers that I only commence cleaning once a direct debit has been setup... Seems to be working so far.

Cheers andy how do i get dd set up

You can't really do DD as it means the seller (i.e. you) request the fee on a certain day. The bank charges heavily for this. Plus you have the authority to change the amount after giving warning.
I find Standing Orders are better. The customer sets it up and controls it. You simply check the cleans off with payments.
Some just do Bank Transfers after each clean.

Take a look at https://gocardless.com have just started using it and is so easy to set up a direct debit! No mor worries.

Paypal on my website works best for me when it comes to residential payments.
Round here, no one will sign for a standing order,.. its simply not done unless its to a utility provider, but no way would anyone trust a tradesman to turn up on time every month (I do live in Ireland & can understand this attitude!).
Some of my commercials pay by Bacs,..

Bacs has made life alot easier

That's a lot cheaper than I have seen in the past.
