surely people must realise that a £26 voucher deal cant be much good.
I don't know how it works but surely groupon must take a percentage from this.

Maybe all you get for your money is a quick hoover up as that is what is shown on the picture .

People are greedy and stupid.
And that includes myself when I'm on ebay looking at bargain high performance vehicles.

@ Derek ,
Groupon can take up to 40% + vat at 20% which is £12.48 , so that leaves the CC with £13.52.........and @ 3:20 this afternoon he had sold 57.
He wont make any money at it , he may upsell a few extras , and he might gain a few extra "lifetime" customers , but at £6.76 a room is it really worth it ?

His stairs and landing counts as 2 rooms ???

People are stupid... especially Mrs average looking out for a bargain who knows absolutely nothing about the pitfalls of hiring a cheap trades person. ;D

thanks for the info paul that really is an eye opener........
to think that a customer has paid hundreds of pounds to buy these carpets and expects to have them cleaned properly for less than £14.00 for 2 rooms......just doesn't make sense.......wonder what spotters, presprays, extraction rinse, defoamer and odour kill will be used here then ?
-
just for your info guys.... Not all carpet cleaners who advertise on groupon are cowboys.....
Some I know do proper jobs for these customers..... Just far too cheap to sustain a good business plan.
-
I think a groupon or wowcher is more a marketing plan than a business plan :)
-
Yup... but it has to be done right......
I did get lots of upsells..... But not 1 customer from 2 years ago wants more work doing at proper prices.... and that includes Mrs Sainsbury of the supermarkets..

He's done a few of these "deals" on a few different "deal" sites. Ive had a couple of calls in the past when he hasn't turned up. I also have a couple of customers who have used him and have now used me last 2 years, without going into details just poor quality.
Best thing is one of the customers is a supervisor in a drinks distribution place and last 2 years he's give me a box of booze as a tip, bottles of peach shnapps, cocktails, bottles of them corkys shots, etc ;D
They're not doing themselves, or anyone else or the industry any favours but I stopped worying about it ages ago.
That Spring Clean Carpets was the worst he sold 1000+ "deals". Strangely his website is no longer live probably rapped in. The trouble being he has probably left behind 1 of 2 things either
1. A happy but now price conditioned customer....or
2. An un happy customer who turns to the darkside (laminate) because they think carpets cant be maintained etc.
Saying that I like to be positive so maybe
3. There's 1000+ customers who have now seen the error of their ways and now buy on quality instead of price ;D
