A newbie question. ???
Will use a brush be enough to get good results ??? I heard on from Craftex is quite good and cheap. Please can you give me some suggestion for agitation.
Or shall I got straight to CRB or a spin one? :-\

A stiff carpet brush will do fine for starters and also doubles to use to reset the pile afterwards.

I've always found the best brush if you wanna use it for agitation is a tile & grout one.
Solutions sell a 12" one

Brush will do for now if you can try an upgrade to mechanical agitation it's easier and more thorough, you can pick up a rotary for £100 on ebay.

Hi
Simon is right brush is fine for starters. Good scrub on traffic lanes dwell time and bobs your uncle
Once you got some spare cash, look at the sebo duo, contra rotating brushes, it brings the wools up a treat before extraction, and you def will need a rotary scrubber with some bonnet pads for heavy duty scrubbing on the real mingers. Also good for low profile carpet.

what do you mean by stiff brush? Is natural tampico brush better than nylon one?
Someone said to me the same, I can use the same brush to reset pile... but will that be safe after rinse, cos brush already contains pre spray with higher ph after agitation??? don't bother with pile rake?
-
Rakes aren't bad for agitation. Nice and stiff when new.
Personally I would use a soft brush to reset the pile though.

I wouldn't use the same brush for agitation to also groom the pile after cleaning. They can get manky pretty quick. Tried it once when the brush was cleaned and looked like new, but after a couple of strokes I noticed wee hairs and lint etc on the freshly cleaned carpet.
But yes a brush is more than adequate to agitate pre-spray into carpets. I use one daily, in fact I did a dirty Indian carpet on Saturday night. Large area, several areas of blacktop. All I used was a carpet brush. As well as hot Enzall, formula90 and a Airflex Storm! ;D. Client was very happy, do it once a year and have been cleaning it for 4 years.
CRB machines will save you a bit of time but the main advantage is till be a lot easier on your body (less fatigue).

i use to have a sebo duo but found it a pain to clean out, i just scrub the traffics with a brush from craftex, it also keeps you fit, never bothered with mechanical on most carpets but on real mingers i use my rotary i got off of Shaun for £100 had it a least 5 years now and comes in very handy at times
-
Ah but Colin you have a massive tm to make up for your brush so that's not fair.
