Cleaned mine two weeks ago and they looked great. Looked again today and they are covered in dust :o
Surely it won't take long for custies to realise it's a waste of money?

some of the prices being qouted by cleaners i cant see it being a lucrative market for the odd customer

I wouldn't bother either if it was the odd residential. Prices vary massively. One company is doing cleaning and an inverter check for £245+ VAT. Ridiculous.

that sounds like good pricing to me. ridiculous is doing something for pathetic proffit. if they can get those prices good luck to them :)

How would you feel if you paid £175.00 for a service which was EXACTLY the same as someone who charged you just £40.00? This is a 25 year project for clients who have had them installed. I am potentially in this for the long term with them, not looking to hit them once and hit them hard. Building relationships and networking is what this game will be about. Who you know, not how much you charge.

I think most of the dust will be washed off with the next heavy rain shower.
They need washed every so often to remove algae and pollutants.

if we are doing the odd solar panel clean here and there, there's no point in me doing it cheap. much better for me to get a great one off price.
if you are trying to make it a regular maintenance job, and that suits your business to do them cheap then that's OK for you.
if i quote a price, and a customer accepts it then it's a fair price.

I clean a couple of regular cutomer's solar panels every time I clean their windows, I only charge an extra £10 for their 18 panels, but it only takes me 3 minutes to clean them!! If someone phoned up wanting a one off solar panel clean, then I would price it really high, as I wouldn't be bothered if I got it or not!

That's fine Richard, but I asked how would you FEEL...
if a customer is paying £245 for a clean, the amount they are spending is not as important to them as other things. for some people £245 isn't an amount of money they worry about. so if they are quoted that price, and they think that's OK they'll have it done.
if it is a lot of money for them, then they will shop around and then decide on who to go with. that's business.
in any market place people offer similar services or products at a variety of price points. different people buy at different points. that's business.
to answer your question i would get 3 quotes and decide from there.

It took me about 3 hours to do the job, and I later found out that they had had one other quote, which was for £2,500!! I was gutted!!
