I have a job in 2 weeks who was recommended to me and who wants me to clean her suite but does not want it cleaned with hwe. She is adament she wants me to clean it as ive done work for her mum and her sister. Its quite grubby and dry cleaninf wiuld not make a dent on it thb
Can I use encap and a drill brush attachments that I normally use for scrubbing in my normal prespray and then just rub down with a towel afterwards?

I think I would use encap as a pre spray brush in towel off and turbo dry then if not satisfactory I would advise a light extraction (don't forget you've lightened the soiling) you have shown her the before and after of lm then she can make her own mind up.

Use a sponge to generate foam in a bucket using your encap chem or use something like prochem fiber shampoo, then agitate in. Then use your machine to extract the excess moisture out afterward finishing with a dryer. It will be dry before you leave. Not sure about the result though.

No I did not use lm on her family's, I used the tm and thats why I was recommended to her. But she is adament I dont use hwe on the sofa. People are strange. But then again she said safeclean done it last time using some soapsuds and it was not soaking wet..

Go round and do one cushion of the sofa for her. Show her that you don't over wet and is only slightly damp.
Do the above only if you have a good internal spraying hand tool i.e. cfr etc. and use an air mover.
Show her manky water and tell her a dry clean would not of gotten that out.

2 turbo driers and a few terry towels and it'll be dry after cleaning anyway.

I bought a buffalo 3 seater of eBay for £40 it was described as 'filthy and needing a good clean' ( no wonder I was the only bidder).
I cleaned it with dynamall using my carpetron foam machine and it came up near perfect and literally took 10 mins

Hang on, you're supposed to be the professional cleaner - since when does that mean the customer tells you how to clean a suite?

I don't think she is trying to tell him how to clean it but just doesn't want it wet. We quite often have clients who worry about wet upholstery but if you can do a demo and show them they normally allow us to do what we need to do to get the job done properly.

It turns out the lady had a suite cleaned 15 years ago and it was left soaking for days and the colours had run. She has since had new suites but has always had them dry cleaned. The reason I asked about lm is because I felt the suite would have cleaned up better using encap. I used dynamal and brush it in and towel dried off followed but blowers. The suite came up fantastic and becuase I had carried out the job as she had asked I have had just over £1200 work out of her the last week. I used the tm on her carpets and two of her rental houses but she is adament that I dont use it on her suite.

I've had these in the past and every time its because they or someone they know had a suite 'cleaned' and it took a week to dry out. All you have to do is ask her why and I bet that's the answer.

I know encap crystalizes, but I'm not convinced it won't resoil. The next hwe on it would need
defoamer IMO.

It depends on which shampoo was used. A good pre vac would remove most of it. I always advise customers to vac their upholstery a couple of days after a clean anyway to remove anything residual.

That was Releasit Hydrox on that one. Yes we sell the brushes.
We have trouble keeping them in stock as the supplier cant cope with the demand.
More are on their way as I type.

Offer to clean a cushion using a good internal spray tool such as a CFR...
The trick i have found to achieving good results is to start with extracting as much of the dry soils... i used a Sebo power head attached to my Henry.
Then choosing the correct pre spray is essential... this is where we have all fallen at the first hurdle one time in our careers... just because someone tells you a product "should" word.. doesn't mean it "will" work!!
Using the correct pre spray and a good brush such as the one Jamie suggested will keep the moisture levels low... a good dwell and low pressure rinse (100 psi) should extract fine and remember to follow with several dry passes.
I always use a clean dry towel to buff after... this really helps to dry the fabric and finally an air mover.
Demonstrate this method and im sure the customer will accept HWE...
