Title: Face/Eye protection
Post by: Cowan on June 03, 2013, 11:04:11 pm
Was hoping someone from a pressure washing background could suggest some suitable eye/face PPE?

I use a pair of general safety glasses when using the FSC as a precaution, not that there is really anything being thrown up at head height but better safe than sorry!!

It's more for when using the turbo nozzle into corners or as I have been doing recently, basement steps. This seems to get wee pieces of sand, pointing etc flying at your face.  I have been using a cheap full face visor from Screwfix and have replaced it already after only 2 months.  The visor gets scratched and makes it almost impossible to see what I am spraying, especially if the sun is out!!

Any advice/recommendations appreciated - my eyes are the most important tool/piece of equipment I have and want to ensure I look after them!!

Cheers guys as always ...

You wont win this fight.

Just be prepared to buy lots of glasses, I have tried face visors, goggles, glasses, even when they say they wont scratch - they scratch!!!

Tried all brands, Uvex, cheap & B & Q ones, we have to wear Sainsbury's PPE ones now and they are just as bad.

It is right that you are protecting your eyes, don't compromise on this, it will take a second to lose your sight, a lifetime to pay for not wearing glasses!!
