Title: AquaTap Video
Post by: Peter Fogwill on June 02, 2013, 12:00:32 pm
A Video of the first prototype of the AquaTap made personally by me with pouring plastic. It doesn't look very nice but shows nicely the way it works, and how easy it is to use. This particular model has no positive stop like the finished product does, which means if you kept turning the pole the Aquatap would keep cycling on and off.

The price will be £29.99

Hi Peter, I like the look of that.

Is it an easy job to fit or do we need to buy adapters etc for specific poles?

Just screws on to a normal pole top. Has the same bottom as a standard angle joint, and most poles that don't have the standard top already have adapters.

Hi Peter looks good
Will get one when on sale to see how it compares to an AD

Please, please brush up on customer service as I think this could be a big seller it took over 2months of trying to get any response when I wanted an auto brush and then the AD came to market and got by custom.

Hope to see it on sale soon!

Darran

Ok Smudger thanks for the advice.  I did brush up on that years ago, I was a bit hard to get in touch with sometimes.  My customers knew how to get in touch though.

I will have adapters, a priority will be to get it working with Gardiner equipment as it is so popular.

Anyone want a free adaptor to try out?  It will convert a Gardiner pole to a normal screw top that will take a standard angle joint, an AquaDapter or my new Aquatap when its ready.  It has the hole running through it for the pole hose.

Hi Alan, its just the adapter that I want someone to try out not the AquaTap.  I am going to need them for people who use a Gardiner pole and want to use the AquaTap.  I am sure the adapter will be indestructible, but just want someone to try it out in normal use.  BTW the adapter is 35 grams.

thing is a lot of people use the goose necks not the normal standard angle joint. so if it doesnt work with there carbon goose neck its not worth buying it.

First things first Dave, I now have a good adapter that people with a Gardiner pole can use my AquaTap on.  I will now look at it being used with the gooseneck. I am sure by next week sometime I will have an adapter people can use with the gooseneck. Failing that and even if I don't, then I am also sure that the benifits of the AquaTap will outweigh the benifits of the gooseneck for some people.

A bit more than half.  There should be a bit of weight saving on the adapters as well.

im wrong its less than half the weight the AD is 180g

is this product now ready for sale and has it been field tested

cheers bob

Bob the newer ones are quite a bit lighter.  I have field tested the ones like the grey in the video that I made myself.  I couldn't do that with the black and blue prototypes that you see in the other videos as they were printed plasic and the printed plastic is pretty soft.  It was good enough though to let me see that it performs like its meant to.  The injected moulded ones I get a few weeks before I get the batch made, will be strength tested thourghly, and if any weaknesses found will be modified before the batch is made.

must admit i would be interested in one, i use to have the AD but do have a shoulder problem so found the extra weight a problem, i use a in-line tap at the moment so lots of bending   so keep the info coming

Yes that's right.  That adapter is for the Gardiner pole.  It could be lighter but I chose to have a goo length stem for inside the pole and clamp.

so will the a/t fit onto gardeners new poles with goose neck.?

I will be working on an adapter for that this week.  Can't see a problem though I already have one for the Brodex gooseneck.

For the people wondering if the AquaTap can be used with the Gardiner carbon gooseneck, here is the adapter. You will buy the No 1 clamp from Gardiner, and the other part will come from me.  You will also have the option of glueing the gooseneck into the adapter when weight is critical.

Tried to upload a picture here but the upload file is full. The picture can be seen on my Facebook page.

Sorry guys if the other forum wasn't mine then I probably would, besides I like to do everything by the book, that way I don't get into trouble.  I don't want banned, I want to discuss my new tool on here when people start to use it.

FFS there's nothing wrong with uploading files. When you want to put an image in your post click on 'SELECT FILES' which is on the same page as the one you use when you write out a post.

JUST ABOVE THE EFFING EMOTICONS!!!!!!

It says 'UPLOAD IMAGES'.

SFWC and Peter, you are the two that need to read my post. Here is an illustration of my point. Click on the following link, it's quite simple, follow the instructions; i'll repeat for clarity, click on the following link

http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=172022.msg1450030#msg1450030

It is a post containing an image, HOSTED ON THE CIU SERVER. It was uploaded in the manner I described in my previous post that YOU didn't read correctly.

Re-read it and then you too will be able to post images on CIU.

Does not work for me & has not worked for a lot of people on here.

That's because you and them are doing it wrong.

Matt, been looking for the facility to do that for the last 15 minutes and can't work it out. I am using a phone don't know if that makes a difference. The way your suggesting do you need the file to be on a server?

Anyway I have always clicked on additional options and chose the file to upload, and that's not working.
Title: Re: AquaTap Video
Post by: MATT BATEMAN (OWC) on June 15, 2013, 10:16:21 pm
That's your problem. It's your phone. Use a PC man!

 ;D

If you had the use of a PC you wouldn't need to host the image anywhere as CIU would do that for you.

If you only have a phone host it on Facebook and copy the URL into the image tags on CIU.

Seems like a lot if trouble.  On my forum I just upload the file straight from my phone. My phone is where the pictures are.  CIU needs to store the pictures on their server to make it easier.

Dave we always have to wait for the best things in life :) They are on trial at the moment and a batch will be made very soon.  I want to make sure they stand up to the rigours of everyday use in window cleaning on the end of the pole. So far they are doing that with no signs of wear, and so far no problems reported.  Last thing I want or anyone buying them wants is anything going wrong with them prematurely.

Dave if it was up to me they would be on the go just now.  What people say they will do, and what they actually do are unfortunately two completely different things.  I don't want to give a date just incase something I can't control sets it back, but it will be very soon.
