Has anyone got a income protection plan in place?
Are they worth it, and what type of plan do you have in place.
Thanks.

It's a crock.
Set up your own cooperative with a small group of trusted lads.
I've got 2 other lads I'd trust with my round, cash, details etc...
Was 3 but one turned out to be mental. Shame.

Dean Taberner?

No, my mate makes Dean look like a 'salt of the earth' kind of guy.

Round here if you talk to another window cleaner they think your odd?
With the exception of one who is a good bloke this would not work.

That's a shame.
I know at least 10 to have coffee with round my manor.
5 I would trust with my customers.
2 of which I would trust to completely run my business and give me a percentage. Then when I'm back on track give everything back.
I'd do the same for them.
I've helped a number if lads out over the years. 2 lads have given me their vans to do my round. I've only had to cover someone else's work 3 or 4 times in over 10 years.

If you are prepared to pay, say £40 per month into these policies, my advice would be put the £40 per month under your mattrerss instead. They will promise a payout of around £800 per month but if you read the small print the insurance companies will only pay out around 75% of your TAXABLE income, when you are self employed you try to keep your taxable income down, this will go against you in the event of a claim.

That is what my Financial adviser said. I'm going to look it to this, thanks chaps.
