Title: Pump 'sight nut'
Post by: Mike Halliday on May 30, 2013, 07:54:04 pm
Today the plastic see through nut at the side of my pump came loose and emptied the gear oil all over the road  :'( :'(

Luckily I saw the leak in time and turned off the machine.

The problem is the nut won't tighten, it's like it's too small for the hole  it just spins ??? ???

Anyone had this problem?

yes it happened to me once, you can get new plastic ones from qwashers or malcleanse, but i bought a brass stop plug from b&q and tightened that into hole, never had any probs since.

Mike, did you get rid of your trailer mount machine that time? Did you say you were going to scrap it?

Kenny it's still sat on my lawn, I've took out the machine and carry it in the van as a spare , luckily I did as its what I used yesterday when I had my pump problem.

The trailer unit will be scrapped for parts, I'm thinking of fitting the electric hose reel in the van.

How much would you want to sell the trailer complete for mate? with hose reel etc, I may be interested, go a kubota diesel engine there with a 202 that would go nicely on it
