Hi,
A client of mine has a rubber crumb in resin pool surround. Has anyone had any experience cleaning one of these?
-
Yes. We use a gel based cleaner from Bonasystems called Bonaclean Gel
Apply with a roller Or paint pad. Give it good dwell then use a CRB machine with soft to medium brushes.
-
Thanks Jamie
Do you finish it with anything, will it take a seal?
-
Does the CRB remove all residues, no rinsing?
-
It will need thorough rinsing after agitation and removal.
We usually use a self neutralising mild alkaline cleaner for final rinse then just hose off with water.
-
We use Aqua Mix Concentrated Tile Cleaner afterwards because it is pH Neutral

The main reason for using the mild alkaline (pH 8.5) is because the Bonaclean Gel is acidic and can leave the floor white if not completely rinsed away.
-
If the floor has significant limescale build up it is also possible to apply Bonaclean (liquid) on top of the gel to re-energise if it is all "neutralised" by the calcium.

Thanks Jamie,
They don't make the gel at the moment, but they're sending an alternative.
I don't have a CRB machine. Do you rent them? Or is the another option?
